How to apply to GD College.
Applying to GD College is a straightforward process. Our admissions team will guide you through each step, from choosing your program to completing your registration and preparing for your first day of classes.

Choose Your Program
Start by reviewing the diploma programs offered at GD College and deciding which one best matches your interests and career goals. Our programs include:

Students who are unsure which program to choose are encouraged to speak with admissions or book a campus tour.
Confirm That You Meet the Admission Requirements
Applicants must be at least 18 years old and meet either the standard admission requirements or the mature admission requirements.
Standard Admission
Applicants may qualify through standard admission by providing accepted proof of high school education. This may include:
- ✓ An Alberta or Canadian high school diploma
- ✓ An official high school transcript
- ✓ An accepted out-of-province diploma or transcript
- ✓ An IQAS or WES assessment for international education
International education may need to be formally assessed before admission can be approved.
Mature Admission
Applicants who do not have accepted high school documents may be considered through the mature admission pathway.
Mature applicants may need to complete the Wonderlic Basic Skills Test. GD College can schedule the entrance assessment in-house after the applicant begins the registration process.
Applicants may also be required to provide proof of English-language ability, depending on their educational background.
Complete the Program Registration Form
Complete the registration form for the diploma program you want to attend. The form will ask for information such as:

- ✓ Program selection
- ✓ Preferred class schedule
- ✓ Education history
- ✓ Citizenship or immigration status

Submit Your Educational Documents
Applicants must provide the educational documents required for their admission pathway. Documents may include:

- ✓ High school transcript
- ✓ Out-of-province transcript
- ✓ IQAS assessment
- ✓ WES assessment
- ✓ English-language test results
- ✓ Government-issued identification
- ✓ Immigration documents, when applicable
Applicants using the mature admission pathway may be asked to complete an entrance assessment instead of providing standard high school documents. The admissions team will confirm which documents are required based on your situation.
Pay the Registration Fee
A non-refundable registration fee of $100 is required to begin the enrolment process. The registration fee is applied toward the student's tuition balance.
Accepted payment methods include:
Debit and credit card payments are not currently accepted. Payment instructions will be provided by the admissions team.
The registration fee does not guarantee admission. Applicants must still meet all academic, documentation and admission requirements.
Complete the Mandatory Student Interview
Every applicant must complete the GD College Student Interview Form. The interview helps our admissions team understand:

- ✓ Your expectations
- ✓ Your previous education or experience
- ✓ Whether you understand the program commitment
- ✓ How you plan to pay for your education
The student interview is a required part of the admission process. An enrolment letter cannot be issued until the required interview and registration steps have been completed.
Select Your Payment or Funding Method
Students must confirm how they plan to pay for their program. Available options may include:
- ✓ Alberta Student Aid
- ✓ Student aid from another province
- ✓ A GD College payment plan
- ✓ Full tuition payment
- ✓ First Nations or band funding
- ✓ Advancing Futures
- ✓ Employer sponsorship
- ✓ Another approved third-party funding source
Students applying for Alberta Student Aid generally need:
- ✓ A verified Alberta.ca Account
- ✓ Social Insurance Number
- ✓ 2025 Notice of Assessment
- ✓ Banking information
- ✓ Program dates and tuition information
- ✓ Spouse or dependent information, when applicable
Applicants should begin the student aid process early because government processing times may vary. Funding approval is determined by the government funding authority, not by GD College.
Complete an Entrance Assessment if Required
Applicants entering through the mature admission pathway may need to complete the Wonderlic Basic Skills Test.

The test can be scheduled in-house through GD College. Applicants must meet the required admission score before their admission can be finalized. Admissions will provide the testing date, instructions and any preparation information.

Once the required registration steps have been completed, GD College will prepare the student's enrolment documents. These may include:

Sign the Student Contract
Admission is not complete until the student contract and required enrolment documents have been signed. The contract confirms:

- ✓ Withdrawal and refund conditions
Students should keep a copy of all signed documents for their records. For students using government funding, the signed enrolment documents may also be needed to support the student aid application.
Complete Any Remaining Financial Requirements
Before classes begin, students must complete any outstanding financial steps. This may include:

A pending student aid application does not automatically remove the student's payment responsibilities. Students experiencing funding delays should contact GD College as soon as possible.

Once enrolment is finalized, students will receive information about orientation and the first day of classes. This may include:
